DJ Hare, P.Eng., MBA, CFP

Investment Advisor

DJ was born in Toronto and moved to Sudbury with his wife Heather in 1988 where they planted roots and raised their two smart and lovely daughters, Alexa and Jen.  He continued to practice as a consulting engineer for the next 10 years before transitioning to an investment advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns where he has worked for the past 20 years.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo in Systems Design Engineering in 1987.  In addition to maintaining his Professional Engineers of Ontario designation, DJ also acheived his MBA from Laurentian University and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional.  He is proud to be an active Rotarian, supporting projects locally and internationally.  The Rotary Club of Sudbury recognized his enthusiasm and effort in 2012 as Rookie of the Year.  

In his spare time, DJ enjoys the outdoors, whether that be golfing, skiing, gardening or spending time at camp with his family.  
 

Patrick Brouzes, CFP, FCSI, FMA, PFP

Investment Advisor and Financial Planner

Patrick was born and raised in Sudbury and has been in the financial services industry for the past 20 years.  He is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), a designation held by only 3,500 financial services professionals across Canada.  He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional which is the internationally recognized stardard indicating not only a high degree of knowledge, skills and abilities, but also a sworn obligation to follow a Code of Ethics that prescribes his professional duty to always put his clients' interests first.  

He also enjoys giving back to his community.  He is Past-President of the Board of Directors for the United Way North East Ontario where he has been volunteering for the past 10 years.  He was recently recognized for his volunterism by being awarded the Jean Hanson Lifetime Service Award in 2017.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Health Sciences North Foundation and also his daughter's Montessori school.      

As busy as work and community involvement keeps him, his first priority is to his family.  The entire family; wife Kim, and three beautiful daughters enjoy spending time at the cottage on beautiful Manitoulin Island. 

Mary Morrier

Senior Client Service Associate

After graduating from Canadore College, Mary joined the Bank of Montreal in 1994 and quickly built a solid reputation for providing exemplary customer service and was a valuable member of the BMO team.  In 2013 she was recruited to join BMO Nesbitt Burns where she excelled at administration and assisting our clients.  We are very lucky to have her on our team!

When not trying to keep up with their 2 teenage sons, Mary and her husband Tom enjoy spending time together doing outdoor activites in all seasons.

Tyler Klinck

Director – Wealth Planning

Tyler has always been passionate about helping people, especially with their finances. After being accepted into the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management, Tyler quickly learned the importance of financial management and switched his degree major from Marketing to Finance.
Once graduated, Tyler started to pursue his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation to further his grasp on the financial landscape we all are navigating. At BMO Private Wealth, he now uses this knowledge to provide customized solutions to serve the unique needs of his clients.

Carol Willes

Director, Estate Planning

Carol brings over 30 years of legal experience with 14 years of dedicated wealth and estate planning expertise to her role. Carol came from a combination of private practice in law and consulting for clients from Asia to Europe in the areas of business structuring, succession planning and financing. She has taught both undergraduates and executives at the Queen’s University School of Business and Faculty of Law, in the fields of international business, law and ethics and most recently taught Wills and the Law of Succession to upper year law students at the University of Ottawa.

Now as Director, Estate Planning at BMO Private Wealth, Carol strives to provide meaningful, client-centered advice and solutions. She helps individuals and their families build a secure and purposeful legacy and find peace of mind in the context of their entire wealth story.

Carol assists clients from many backgrounds to comprehend their present circumstances and to develop that future legacy. By helping people focus on what is most important to them – their family, their community, financial security and more – she develops distinctive estate planning options for clients as part of an integrated team of wealth planning specialists that supports those clients through their entire life journey.

Louis-Philippe de Sève-Bergeron, LL.B, TEP

Director, Tax Planning

As a tax specialist, Louis-Philippe provides information and guidance to individuals and businesses relevant to today’s complex tax environment. In order to coordinate the best client solutions, Louis-Philippe often works directly with our clients’ lawyers and accountants. The goal is to always ensure that a well-rounded team of professionals is working to improve our clients’ situation.

Louis-Philippe is also fluent in both English and French. Louis-Philippe, holds both a Master of Taxation and the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation, has worked extensively on corporate reorganizations and restructuring, estate planning, and establishment of trusts. He has consulted on intergenerational transfers, estate planning and transfers to key employees. With over 12 years of experience in an accounting environment, 6 being at BMO, he has developed the ability to provide clear and concise advice to a variety of clients during their most stressful life events.

Karen Sparks, MBA, CFP, TEP

Senior Wealth Management Consultant

Karen advises high net worth families and business owners on comprehensive wealth planning solutions, as part of an integrated team of Wealth Consultants and in-house technical specialists. Drawing on extensive financial product expertise and planning acumen, Karen helps clients articulate and understand their unique objectives for accumulated wealth. A skilled listener, she acts as a value-add resource for wealth management professionals and their clients, ultimately providing a blueprint from which to execute a customized – and optimized – wealth plan.

 

Karen joined BMO Wealth Management in 2011, following progressively senior roles in the financial services industry, specializing in wealth planning, marketing and communications, and business development. In her previous role, she worked as a Vice President for a private investment counsel firm where she provided high net worth clients with comprehensive wealth planning and investment counselling services.

Adam E. Carter, CPA, CA, CBV, FEA

Vice President, Business Advisory & Transition Planning

Prior to joining BMO Private Wealth in 2018, Adam worked for KPMG Corporate Finance Group, advising private company owners across multiple industries, with business enterprise values ranging from $3 million to +$100 million, on divestitures, acquisitions, due diligence, projections/financial modeling, and business valuations for multiple purposes. Other areas of experience include corporate restructuring and insolvency, financing, financial modeling & projections and corporate audits. Adam’s goal is to develop rapport with clients through open communication, trust and exceptional service. Leaning on his diverse background and experience, Adam provides guidance to private business owners and families throughout Ontario in the areas of business succession, transition, growth through acquisitions, sell-side M&A, and valuations for the purposes of wealth planning and exit planning.

Phil Comtois

Estate and Insurance Advisor, Senior Vice President

With over 20 years in the estate planning and insurance industry, Phil has been with BMO Estate Insurance Advisory Services since 1998. Phil provides comprehensive advice for personal estate, corporate estate, insurance and retirement needs. Areas of expertise include estate creation and preservation techniques and corporate financial security planning, all with an emphasis on elimination of taxes. By collaborating with Investment Advisors, Phil facilitates the planning process and coordinates clients' other Advisors, including lawyers and accountants.

In addition to his advisory role, Phil plays a key role on the division’s management team as an ambassador for Estate and Insurance Advisors across Canada. In this position, Phil leverages his experience as a top performing advisor to create opportunities and tools that will help Estate and Insurance Advisors in becoming successful advisors and leaders in their field.
