Gordon Robertson has been a Wealth Advisor for over 30 years, helping families, charitable organizations and corporate clients to build and protect their wealth. Gordon holds a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University and a Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University. With warmth, wisdom, sound values and deep personal conviction, Gordon is an invaluable sounding board and advisor.
 
Within the team, Gordon’s focus is on selecting income-generating securities to provide our clients with a steady cash flow in retirement. He also has a vast understanding of the fixed income markets and understanding the risk and opportunities they present.   
 
In his downtime, Gordon was formerly a long-serving volunteer supporting community soccer with the Nova Scotia Soccer League. He is an avid cyclist year-round despite our harsh winters and he and his wife, Karen, have become devoted wine connoisseurs. Gordon values opportunities to spend time with his daughter Emma who lives in Toronto and his son Neil who resides in Halifax.

Ken Popowich, CIM

Investment Advisor

Ken Popowich began his financial services career in the early 90s in retail banking in Vancouver. He joined the wealth management side of the business after moving home to Nova Scotia. Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts in from Saint Mary’s University, and has also completed the Partners, Directors and Officers course. He is currently working to obtain the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation.
 
Analytical and astute, Ken’s focus within the team is equity research. With in-depth knowledge of market and commodity cyclicals, he is constantly looking for great companies that are most likely to deliver consistent returns to our clients.
 
Ken loves athletic pursuits, whether it’s tennis, ocean kayaking, or skiing. He is an avid cook who enjoys good food. Ken and his spouse Denise are avid travellers.

Heather MacInnes

Client Service Associate (Senior)

Heather MacInnes has been working in financial services for more than 20 years and plays at a very high level. Hard-working, conscientious and detail-driven, she is a strong asset to the team. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Heather kept everyone safe and helped us navigate abrupt changes in technology. She is our clients’ first call and, if a question is tough, we always ask Heather! She is invaluable and we are lucky to have her.

Heather has been working at BMO Private Wealth since 2005. Originally from Coleraine, Northern Ireland, Heather graduated from King’s College in Halifax with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Heather has a deep understanding of how to provide a high standard of client service, handles paperwork efficiently and issues cheques, trade settlements, and transfers. She opens and maintains all our accounts and answers client questions on operational matters. 
 
In her personal time, Heather stays busy with her husband Miles and their son Tommy. She tries to travel to her beautiful homeland whenever she can and also enjoys reading, painting and camping when our weather cooperates. 

Ryan Dunfield, MBA

Client Service Associate

Ryan has been with the Robertson Popowich Wealth Management team since 2023. Armed with an MBA from Dalhousie University, Ryan is dedicated to navigating the intricate landscape of wealth management to bring financial success to our clients.

 

Originally hailing from New Brunswick, Ryan and his fiancée now proudly call Halifax home, having planted roots in the community in 2019. His upbringing in the values of hard work and perseverance serves as the foundation for his client-centered approach. Ryan commits to the ideal of being a lifelong learner actively pursuing a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation.

 

Before delving into the world of wealth management, Ryan contributed his expertise to the technology sector at IBM Canada Ltd. His diverse background, coupled with a BBA from St. Francis Xavier University, brings a unique perspective to our team.

In his downtime, Ryan finds joy in adventures with his fiancée Cecilia and their loyal companion, Ellie the dog. As a sports enthusiast, he spends summers on the golf course and winters either coaching or playing hockey.
