Douglas Newlands joined Burns Fry in 1977 and following the merger of Burns Fry Nesbitt Thomson, Doug joined the bank owned dealer as Senior Investment Advisor.

Presently, Doug is a member of the Chairman's council and a recipient of the Dean Nesbitt/Charles Burns award, recognizing exceptional performance. In addition, for over nineteen years Douglas Newlands managed a branch of over forty Investment Advisors with assets currently in excess of nine billion. Douglas obtained his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and is a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute. (ICSI)

Douglas and his wife Janet are actively involved with several charities, and have three grown children. Giving back to the community and living a balanced life are important to Douglas and his family.
