Dilk Dhanapala, BA (Econ), CFP, FCSI, CIM

Senior Investment Advisor & Portfolio Manager

Dilk is the founding member of The Dilk Advisory Group. With over three decades of experience, he has guided clients through financial planning, investment management, insurance, and estate strategies, consistently achieving strong results.​

A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in Economics, Dilk has a deep passion for macroeconomic trends and how they shape markets and client outcomes. As a lifelong learner, he has also earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP), holds the Fellowship of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), and is licensed as a Portfolio Manager with options licensing. Passionate about both investing and mentoring, he has spent much of his career coaching and developing others, while his commitment to market research from analyzing annual reports to monitoring global economic shifts has allowed him to consistently deliver strong results for his clients.​

Outside the office, Dilk is a lifelong soccer enthusiast and proud supporter of Liverpool FC. He has coached soccer in his community for over 15 years and enjoys spending time with his spouse, their three children, and Layla, the family’s energetic Bernedoodle often on long hikes together.

Anca Angelescu, CFP

Investment Advisor and Financial Planner

Anca is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP) with a passion for helping families, business owners, and professionals achieve their financial goals. With over a decade of experience, she has consistently ranked among the top planners at Bank of Montreal and is a proud recipient of the prestigious Conference of the Stars Award.​

Before moving to Canada in 2013, Anca earned a law degree from the Police Academy in Romania, graduating at the top of her class. She later served with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where she played a key role in combating organized crime. This unique background, combined with her creative and detail-oriented approach, gives Anca a distinctive edge in financial planning. She takes pride in exploring every possible solution so her clients gain clarity, peace of mind, and confidence in their financial decisions.​

Outside of her professional life, Anca is a proud mother who enjoys spending time with her spouse Laurian and young son Sebastian. She values family deeply and brings that same care and commitment to every client relationship.

Vincent Belanger

Investment Associate

Vincent began his career at BMO in 2023 as an Investment Specialist, gaining hands-on experience trading equities, options, and fixed income instruments. Before entering the financial industry, he worked as a licensed mechanic in the automotive sector, where he developed the pragmatic and structured problem-solving skills that now guide his approach to investment analysis and trading.​

Driven by a passion for the markets, Vincent joined The Dilk Advisory Group as a Research Analyst and Trader. He has completed the CFA Level 1, holds options licensing, and has successfully passed the Personal Financial Planning course. What began as an interest in managing his own portfolio has grown into a disciplined commitment to helping clients achieve strong outcomes.​

Outside of work, Vincent enjoys time with his family and their young daughter, while continuing to follow the markets and explore new investment opportunities.

Daniella Poruban

Client Service Associate

Daniella has worked exclusively in the Canadian banking industry since 2006, dedicating her career to delivering personalized financial advice and building lasting client relationships. She takes pride in offering holistic guidance that empowers clients to reach their financial goals. Seeking a team that reflected her client-first philosophy, Daniella chose to join the Dilk Advisory Group, a leading wealth management practice known for its thoughtful, strategic and results-driven approach.​

In her role, Daniella ensures that all operational aspects of client requests are handled efficiently and with care. Her attention to detail and commitment to service helps ensures every client interaction is seamless and supportive.​

Outside of work, Daniella is a devoted dog lover with three dogs and enjoys spending time with her family, including her two teenage children. She also cherishes family trips to Mexico with her mother and sister's family, creating lasting memories together.

Vice President, Business Advisory & Transition Planning

Prior to joining BMO Private Wealth in 2018, Adam worked for KPMG Corporate Finance Group, advising private company owners across multiple industries, with business enterprise values ranging from $3 million to +$100 million, on divestitures, acquisitions, due diligence, projections/financial modeling, and business valuations for multiple purposes. Other areas of experience include corporate restructuring and insolvency, financing, financial modeling & projections and corporate audits. Adam’s goal is to develop rapport with clients through open communication, trust and exceptional service. Leaning on his diverse background and experience, Adam provides guidance to private business owners and families throughout Ontario in the areas of business succession, transition, growth through acquisitions, sell-side M&A, and valuations for the purposes of wealth planning and exit planning.

Leigh Vyn, CPA, CA, CFP, FEA

Director, Tax Planning

Leigh is a Director of Tax Planning at BMO Private Wealth. With over twenty years of experience, Leigh understands the broad issues that wealthy families face. By taking the time to understand client’s specific goals and objectives, she brings her extensive subject matter expertise to help guide families through the unique opportunities and challenges that they may be facing in the areas of tax and estate planning, corporate structuring, business succession planning, and family governance.
Leigh can skillfully take complex tax and estate issues, and speak to clients about these in a way that they can easily understand.  In addition to her accounting background, she has extensive experience in the investment industry, including working at a multi-family office where she led a diverse team. For four years, Leigh co-authored the book “Tax Tips for Canadians for Dummies”.
When not at work, Leigh and husband, Dave manage a busy house with two teenagers. She enjoys running and hiking the many trails Ancaster offers.

Sue Noorloos

Director, Estate Planning, BMO Private Wealth

Sue advises high net worth individuals and families on specialized estate and trust solutions as part of an intregrated wealth planning team. She advises clients on their complex estate planning to help them understand the different strategies that they can use to preserve family relations and maximize their wealth.

Prior to joining BMO Private Wealth, Sue gained invaluable experience at an Ontario law firm, where her practice focused on private client services including estate planning, trusts, wills and estate administration ranging from routine matters to complex multi-jursidictional estates. Sue previously worked with a large national trust company where she dealt with high net worth clients and advised them on their complex estate planning.

Carol Willes

Director, Estate Planning

Carol brings over 30 years of legal experience with 17 years of dedicated wealth and estate planning expertise to her role. Carol came from a combination of private practice in law and consulting for clients from Asia to Europe in the areas of business structuring, succession planning and financing. She has taught both undergraduates and executives at the Queen’s University School of Business and Faculty of Law, in the fields of international business, law and ethics and most recently taught Wills and the Law of Succession to upper year law students at the University of Ottawa.

Now as Director, Estate Planning at BMO Private Wealth, Carol strives to provide meaningful, client-centered advice and solutions. She helps individuals and their families build a secure and purposeful legacy and find peace of mind in the context of their entire wealth story.

Carol assists clients from many backgrounds to comprehend their present circumstances and to develop that future legacy. By helping people focus on what is most important to them – their family, their community, financial security and more – she develops distinctive estate planning options for clients as part of an integrated team of wealth planning specialists that supports those clients through their entire life journey.

Jean advises high and ultra high net worth individuals, business owners and professionals on how to efficiently structure their worldwide, U.S. and Canadian assets, providing specialized insight on tax solutions as part of an integrated wealth planning team.

Relying on over 35 years of professional practice Jean’s clients can rely on his in-depth technical expertise to facilitate discussions on high-level planning while addressing a wide range of situations across international,  U.S. income and estate tax, and Canadian income tax considerations.

Jean joined BMO Wealth Management in 2001 with a solid expertise acquired advising individual clients and business owners with a leading Canadian insurance carrier, a leading accounting firm and a law firm.

Stuart Clark, M.Tax, TEP

Estate & Insurance Advisor

Stuart is a specialist at insurance-based wealth and estate planning strategies with a focus to service the high net worth and ultra-high net worth clientele of BMO Private Banking and BMO Nesbitt Burns. His objective is to help families and businesses transfer wealth in an efficient and tax advantaged manner. As a member of the BMO Wealth Management team, he integrates wealth planning strategies that minimize the impact of taxation to you now and to your estate in the future.

Prior to joining BMO Estate Insurance Advisory Services, Stuart worked with BMO Private Banking as a Specialized Planner – Tax to integrate comprehensive tax and wealth plans to enrich the financial success of BMO Private Banking clientele. He also acted as a consultant and instructor to financial advisors with one of Canada’s largest life insurance companies, and provided specialized taxation service with two of Canada’s large accounting firms and the Canada Revenue Agency.

Karen Sparks, MBA, CFP, TEP

Senior Wealth Management Consultant

Karen advises high net worth families and business owners on comprehensive wealth planning solutions, as part of an integrated team of Wealth Consultants and in-house technical specialists. Drawing on extensive financial product expertise and planning acumen, Karen helps clients articulate and understand their unique objectives for accumulated wealth. A skilled listener, she acts as a value-add resource for wealth management professionals and their clients, ultimately providing a blueprint from which to execute a customized – and optimized – wealth plan.

 

Karen joined BMO Wealth Management in 2011, following progressively senior roles in the financial services industry, specializing in wealth planning, marketing and communications, and business development. In her previous role, she worked as a Vice President for a private investment counsel firm where she provided high net worth clients with comprehensive wealth planning and investment counselling services.
