Don Chung

Senior Portfolio Manager, Senior Wealth Advisor & Financial Planner

Don Chung is the Senior Portfolio Manager, Senior Wealth Advisor and Financial Planner here at DCM Wealth Management. He leads DCM Wealth Management as we persist in our pursuit of the forefront industry expertise while maintaining our focus on professional integrity and impeccable customer service. His area of expertise is in comprehensive wealth planning.

Having both years of education and experience, Don enjoys tackling each challenge in the market place in order to forge a clear, sustainable future for his clients. His favorite part of DCM Wealth Management’s wealth management experience is building strong relationships with his clients in order to create customized portfolios to suit each client’s exact needs.

Don’s industry successes derive from his extensive years of learning. After graduating from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelors of Business Administration (with a major in Finance and Accounting), Don immediately moved onto tackling his Masters. Don received a Masters of Business Administration from University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business.

To better serve his clients, Don continued his thirst for knowledge by taking numerous financial courses from the Canadian Securities Institute. His training includes the Professional Financial Planning, Canadian Securities, and Options Licensing Courses. In his many years working in the finance industry, Don has gained considerable practical experience, leading him to be a consistent member of Nesbitt Burn’s Chairman’s Council.

In his spare time, Don enjoys coaching little league baseball and basketball teams. His numerous hobbies include perusing various newsstands for updates on current debates. One can often find Don engaging in stimulating discussions on philosophical conundrums. Don speaks English and Cantonese.

Paul is a co-leader of DCM Wealth Management at BMO Private Wealth in Greater Vancouver and on the Sunshine Coast. Known for always placing his clients’ interests first and helping to build our team’s roundtable structure, Paul’s niche on our team is advising business owners on cross-border tax strategies.

 

Paul joined BMO in 2004. After working as a Financial Planner and Investment and Retirement Planner with BMO Financial Group in West Vancouver for four years, Paul teamed up with Don Chung to create DCM Wealth Management in 2008. Fluent in English and French, Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from the Financial Planners Standards Council and the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute. He has also completed the Professional Financial Planning Trader Training Course, among others, with the Canadian Securities Institute.

To support the community, Paul got our team involved with several organizations, including Gibson’s Public Market and Habitat for Humanity, for which we have done a lot of work over the past decade. He enjoys helming the grill for the Sunshine Coast Hospice Society Hot Dog Day, Raffle and Silent Auction. In his personal time, Paul enjoys spending time his partner, Ivy, his son Jake and his daughters Ava, MacKensie and Samantha. The family enjoy skiing, playing tennis, going for bike rides and traveling.

Christy Ngai

Senior Wealth Associate, Financial Planner & Portfolio Manager

Christy Ngai’s role on DCM Wealth Management’s team is as a registered representative and client services manager. She works with our clients as both a financial resource and as an administrator, at the West Vancouver Branch. Christy’s dependable personality allows her to take on many roles in the team. She takes equity orders, communicates with our BMO Nesbitt Burns head office, and offers superior client support whenever necessary.

Christy graduated from the University of British Columbia, with a Bachelors of Commerce. Having majored in finance, she went on to work for various financial firms before joining Nesbitt Burns. Having years of experience in the financial sector has allowed Christy to anticipate clients’ concerns. She makes the (often complicated) wealth management experience smoother with her detailed and attentive administrative work. It has been many years since Christy has joined DCM Wealth Management here at BMO Nesbitt Burns, and she is a vital part of our team. Her strong focus on providing exceptional customer service is driven by her sincere consideration of each client.

Her many skills include being a polyglot: she is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Her multicultural background leads her to celebrate the diversity of lifestyle and background of the DCM Wealth Management’s clients. She ensures that every unique concern is quickly addressed. Outside of the office, Christy is kept busy by her three young children. She loves the daily challenges of being a mother to three enthusiastic and high-energy children. When she has a little spare time to herself, Christy enjoys keeping healthy through regular Zumba sessions. She also has a fantastic voice, going to various karaoke spots with her family and friends.

Peter Bengtsson, BBA

Investment Associate

Peter Bengtsson loves meeting new people, hearing their personal and career stories, learning their goals and helping them find the best path forward. He focuses on advising young healthcare professionals who have long time horizons and seek long-term solutions for themselves and their families. Through our team’s roundtable approach, when Peter’s clients need specialized expertise outside of his wheelhouse, he brings in collaborators from our team and BMO Private Wealth. With a gift for building client relationships and earning trust, Peter also introduces new clients to our actively growing team, many of which come from satisfied clients and peers.

 

Prior to joining BMO in 2015, Peter was a Financial Services Manager at CIBC for several years. He has completed Financial Planning I and II towards his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. Peter has also obtained his Mutual Funds License with the Investment Funds Institute of Canada and has completed the Canadian Investment Funds Course and the Investment Advisor Training Program with the Canadian Securities Institute.

 

Peter was proudly named a BMO Conference of Stars Honouree in 2021 for leadership among his peers, making significant business contributions leading to outstanding achievements, and demonstrating BMO’s Winning Culture with a focus on relentlessly improving. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Leadership and Management from Trinity Western University, where he served as the Executive Director of Events at the TWU Student Association and sat on the Executive Council, which dictates the direction and leadership of the TWU Student Association. In the summer of 2011, Peter worked as a group leader for Sister Cities International, coordinating and supervising activities for high school students in Phoenix and Washington D.C., which included excursions to mayoral offices, The U.S. Department of State, and the executive offices of the White House.

 

Peter’s father is from Sweden, so he grew up travelling often to visit family and got bitten early by the travel bug. He enjoys exploring new restaurants in downtown Vancouver and is a big music fan who regularly attends live concerts. Peter is also a film buff who stayed sane during the lockdown by rewatching old classic movies.

William Lin, BA

Investment Associate

Patient, attentive and eager to help clients achieve their goals and plan to ensure lasting financial security for their families, William Lin performs wealth planning, investment planning and wealth management.

 

William has over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, mainly focusing on relationship building and management. He joined DCM Wealth Management at BMO Private Wealth in 2021. Previously, William worked as a Premier Relationship Manager at HSBC Bank Canada and as a Mobile Investment Consultant at CIBC. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

 

Married with twin boys, William enjoys hanging out with his kids, hiking and skiing in his personal hours.

Charles Ukrainetz, BA, CFP

Wealth Associate and Financial Planner

Charles is an Associate Investment Advisor and Financial Planner with DCM Wealth Management at BMO Private Wealth who focuses on enhancing his clients' overall long-term financial success with personal attention, proper planning and ongoing counsel. He also works with a wide variety of qualified and dedicated associates at BMO Private Wealth who provide specialized services to help ensure that his clients' broader financial needs are met.

Charles is committed to building solid, lasting relationships with all of his clients. Consistently communicating, promptly returning phone calls and emails, and quickly following up on administrative matters are top priorities. His service standards have made him a proud recipient of the BMO Private Wealth Best of the Best Award and multiple Quarterly Top Performer Awards.

 

Charles has been with BMO since 2005. Prior to joining BMO Private Wealth, he worked with Bank of Montreal as a Financial Planner. Charles holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of British Columbia and Diplomas in Financial Management, Financial Planning Options and Financial Planning Services from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Charles has also earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from the Financial Planning Standards Council and the Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) designations from the Canadian Securities Institute and is a member of the Responsible Investment Association.

 

To support his community, Charles volunteered for several years with Habitat for Humanity, building a housing development on the Sunshine Coast.

 

Charles and his wife have a son and a newborn daughter. Fond of music and singing, Charles and completed two years of the Bachelor of Music program at Capilano University as a Classical Voice major. Family values are very important to Charles. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and getting out on the soccer field whenever he can.

Young Lim, BSc, PFP

Investment Associate

Young joined Bank of Montreal in 2015 and held various positions in retail banking mostly including Financial Planner role prior to joining DCM Wealth Management. In the 7 years of being in retail banking Young always has been results driven and received 7 awards for her dedicated service and high performance. Her honesty, devotion, and humility earned her trust of clients.

Young has passion for offering clients clear guidance through complex markets and empowering her clients with financial resilience. She holds Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) designation as well as Bachelor in Science from the University of British Columbia.

Young was born and raised in Korea until she came to Canada in 2006. She is bilingual in English and Korean. Out of office Young enjoys trying new restaurants in the city and hiking with her husband.

Jefferey Paling

Jefferey Paling is an Associate Wealth Advisor with the DCM Wealth Management Team. Jeff is a seasoned wealth professional who has spent nearly two decades in the investment and finance industry. Along the way, Jeff has worked with a variety of clientele, ranging from individuals embarking on their savings journey to working with large corporations, endowments, and high net-worth, generational families.

 

Driven by a passion for learning, Jeff holds a Finance and Accounting degree from The University of Western Ontario (UWO), and has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Jeff’s commitment to excellence is underscored by his pursuit of several industry designations, including his portfolio management license (Chartered Investment Manager - CIM).

 

When Jeff is not busy working alongside his clients, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Orli, their two children, Jackson and Harper, and their Portuguese water dog, Wrigley. You’ll often find Jeff and his family either skiing in Whistler, fishing off the coast of Gabriola Island, on the sidelines of a soccer pitch, or coaching his children’s little league baseball games.
