Meet Our Team

Rod Bower has over 20 years of experience in the fields of finance and wealth management.  He holds Bachelors degrees in Arts (Econ.) and in Science with distinction. His ongoing commitment to learning includes the completion of executive education courses at Harvard Business School and the Sauder School of Business at UBC, as well as private high net worth training through Institutional Investor in New York. Rod is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and also holds designations as a Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and Canadian Investment Manager (CIM).
 
Rod is a past contributing writer for Advisor's Edge Report (Rogers Media), Beyond Numbers (Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC Magazine) and Good Life Connoisseur Magazine. Outside of work, Rod enjoys spending time with his family skiing, sailing and travelling.  Rod is passionate about endurance sports having completed eight 70.3 Ironman triathlons.  He and his wife Marcia live in south Langley and Summerland with their daughter Rylee, horse Vienna, basset hound Jack and 2nd dog Kona.

Darryl Gauthier has been in the investment and wealth management industry since the year 2000. Prior to joining the Bower Gauthier Group in 2010, Darryl worked on the options trading desk of a major discount brokerage firm as well as an associate within the investment council arm of one of the major Canadian banks. This work provided Darryl with an ideal foundation for his work as a Portfolio Manager and Investment Advisor. He has effectively constructed risk-adjusted portfolios to help clients navigate retirement with a goal to preserve capital and to pass on their wealth to future generations.  Over the years, he has focused on building intergenerational relationships with clients and has enjoyed managing the dynamic and unique needs of each family.
 
Darryl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Victoria and is a proud recipient of the globally recognized Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. The CFA is one of the world's most recognized and advanced financial designations. Darryl has also completed many courses from the Canadian Securities Institute and also holds designations as a Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA).
 
Darryl is happily married to his lovely wife Emily and has three children and a golden retriever. Away from the business, he enjoys hiking, skiing and travelling with family and friends.

May is a graduate of the University of British Columbia where she completed her B.A in Psychology and Economics in 2009.  She extended her education by taking the Financial Management program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).  During her two years at BCIT, she won both the BCIT School Award as well as the BMO Financial Scholarship which reflected her strong passion and interest towards financial planning.

May has worked with the team since 2011. She holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM)  and the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) designations. She believes her understanding of western and eastern cultures plus, the advantage of speaking fluent Cantonese and Mandarin will allow her to communicate effectively with a diverse client base and to ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
 
May has lived in Vancouver for more than 30 years and enjoys gardening and cooking which she took up after marrying her husband, Justin, in 2015.

Clarchie has over 30 years of experience in the investment industry. She started her career in the retail brokerage and wealth management industry in Canada for 10 years before moving to Hong Kong in 2006 where she spent 18 years working with institutional clients across Asia, Europe and North America within the global asset management industry. Clarchie enjoys working closely with clients from various backgrounds with a commitment to delivering high quality service standards.

Clarchie has a Bachelor of Arts (Double Major in Economics & Japanese) from the University of British Columbia as is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Clarchie grew up in Vancouver and enjoys spending time with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, theatre, and playing golf.
