Andre is a student of economics and financial markets along with investor psychology and has a passion for what makes people ‘tick’. Andre’s attention to detail in understanding his client’s ‘story’ and what matters to them is what gives him meaning in his work. We put our clients first and our team process is built around delivering value that matters to our clients in their own terms. The activities we perform for clients are driven by the question ‘What is in it for them?”. In order to be true stewards to our clients and their wealth journey, we work collaboratively with them so that they feel as close to our work as they like to be.The planning work we do is customized to our client’s needs. It’s your plan and it’s your money. Our job is to listen carefully, to provide leadership, education and context, to be objective and to follow through on our commitments.
Andre has been with BMO Nesbitt Burns since 2010. Coming from a large family of medical professionals and physicians and as an experienced leader in public and private sector companies, Andre has developed an expertise in working collaboratively with business owners and professionals in order to optimize and manage tax efficient wealth creation through the accumulation and decumulization stages of their lives.
Andre has his Bachelor of Commerce from the Acadia University/University of Guelph and his Masters in Business (MBA) from Queen’s University. Andre’s background in fundamental and technical analysis are key parts to his investment approach. Andre’s credentials include the CSC, WME and AIS.
On a personal note, Andre is a proud husband and father of two busy young boys and a daughter. Andre and his wife enjoy mountain and road biking as well as running, cross country and downhill skiing.
Chris Chung, PFP®, FCSI®, FEA
Senior Investment Advisor, Financial Planner
Chris focuses on working with clients to create long-term, personalized wealth plans in addition to overseeing the portfolio design. He holds the Personal Financial Planner designation (PFP) and holds the prestigious designation as a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), the highest honor in Canadian financial services. Chris also earned the Responsible Investment Advisor Certification (RIAC) equipping him with the tools to incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into his investment decisions. He is also Life Insurance licensed, allowing him to provide a comprehensive approach to estate protection and preservation strategies. Chris also completed the Family Enterprise Advisor designation, equipping him to support entrepreneurial families in navigating succession, legacy planning, and inter-generational transitions.
For more than 15 years, Chris has been serving high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses, by providing sound financial and wealth planning and portfolio management. Chris has been nominated for the Investment Industry Association of Canada Top 40 Under 40 investment advisor award in 2022.
Apart from his professional life, Chris is passionate about volunteering, and he has been involved in many organizations. He’s been able to bring his expertise to local and national organizations. These include him being a committee member for fundraising for the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation Up The Down Market, and a board member for Intersect (Faith, Work, & Society).
In his free time, Chris enjoys cycling, menswear, DIY projects, and tinkering with cars. He lives in Calgary, Alberta with his wife and 2 very active girls. Outside of work, Chris and his family spend a lot of their time at the Glencoe Club and enjoying the outdoors.
Stephen McEvoy, QAFP
Investment Associate & Financial Planner
Stephen has a keen sense for Wealth Management and Financial Planning. He has been with BMO for 16 years most recently working as a Wealth Planning Advisor with BMO Wealth before joining Baribeau, Chung & Associates. He has also worked directly with a portfolio of clients as a Financial Planner with several branches in and around Calgary over the years. Stephen’s holistic approach to Wealth Planning is well suited for the team and will enhance the client experience with another layer of expertise. He is adept at fitting a client’s financial position with their ambitions and objectives. In his own words – “You gotta love it when a plan comes together!”
Outside of work you might find Stephen canoeing or fishing with his three boys in and around Southern Alberta. He is also an avid soccer player, enjoys hiking, cooking and spending time with his kids.
Jessica Voravong
Client Service Assistant
Jessica recently joined our team as a Client Service Assistant in October of 2022. After earning her BA from the University of Calgary, she began her career in Wealth Management with Nesbitt Burns and has since brought an abundance of experience in providing excellent customer service and a strong work ethic. With a background in management, she uses her exceptional communication skills to provide our clients with a high level of dedication and knowledge.
Outside her professional life, Jessica is an adventurer at heart and loves camping and road-tripping down in the continental US – venturing off the beaten path. She also spends her spare time out in mountains with her rescue dog Kylo.
