On the personal side...
The Balderston name is well-known in Prince Edward Island for its farming business in Stratford and most of my life lessons were learned growing up on the family farm. My interest in all things financial began at a very young age and I received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island in 1997. My career began at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Charlottetown and I completed an assignment in Boston, Massachusetts while with the firm. I received the professional designation of Chartered Accountant in 2002 and am a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Prince Edward Island. Prior to joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, I spent six years at Prince Edward Island Business Development Inc. managing all aspects of a province-wide loan portfolio.
My wife Sonya is a Registered Nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown and we have two daughters, Kaitlin Rose and Emma Grace.
I appreciate the opportunity to serve our community and am proud to be Past Chair of the Board at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation. Previous involvement also includes Board Member for the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce, Council Member for the PEI Institute of Chartered Accountants, and Board of Trustees for Zion Presbyterian Church.
