Senior Wealth Advisor, Associate Portfolio Manager & Financial Planner

Christine Fortin is a financial disruptor who is advancing thought leadership at BMO Private Wealth and transforming norms in the private wealth industry. One of a select few advisors appointed to the BMO Private Wealth Investment Advisor Advisory Council, she provides direct input to the firm that shapes their internal and industry initiatives and direction. 

Christine worked in the U.S. as a derivatives and options analyst, spending time in Taipei developing a portfolio for institutional investors. She then joined RBC Capital Markets in Toronto on the fast-paced foreign exchange desk. Christine moved to RBC Global Asset Management to help institutional clients and multinational corporations to manage their fixed income, currency and hedge strategies in the domestic and global capital markets.  

Driven to apply her institutional experience to empower private investors, Christine joined BMO Nesbitt Burns White Rock in 1998. She created the Fortin Wealth Advisory Group, which has become one of the top 20 teams in Canada thanks to Christine’s rigorous work ethic, sports-inspired discipline, and financial acumen developed over 30 +years in the global markets. 
 
Christine is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®), the highest honour and most senior credential in Canadian financial services, attesting to her advanced education, ethical conduct, industry experience and peer endorsement. Christine has also passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation. 
 
Born and partially raised in Montreal, Christine now resides in South Surrey and loves the beach life there. With her partner, Kent, and her young son, Kase, she loves to travel and relax at their BC interior chalet, skiing at Sun Peaks in winter and soaking up Heffley Lake in summer. Christine is an avid cyclist and gourmet cook who whips up fancy meals featuring farmers’ market fare. You may spot her cycling by with a baguette strapped to her back. She also enjoys historical literature, good humour, grand debate, great wine and keeping fit through Pilates, running and her personal training routine – which helps to offset the effects of the wine! 

 

Ryan N. Lidder, B.Comm., CFP, CIM

Senior Wealth Associate & Financial Planner

Ryan Lidder is a passionate investor and strong advocate of high net worth financial planning.  Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs Ryan understood the complexities of business owners. He grew to learn the importance of the direct value provided by having a wealth management team available to advise and provide guidance through important life decisions.

Ryan’s passion for investments started at a young age when he assisted in developing and managing portfolios for his family, all while implementing strategies for investing and building wealth capable of withstanding multiple generations. During his time in University, Ryan continued pursuing his career aspirations by completing a double major in Finance and Economics from the University of Northern British Columbia.

With a strong educational background and deep understanding of the financial markets Ryan was able to obtain an Associate Advisor position with BMO Nesbitt Burns. He specialized in developing individually tailored portfolios while also implementing high net worth financial plans.

In 2015, Ryan moved to the Lower Mainland and continued his career with BMO as a Financial Planner, most recently working out of BMO’s flagship Vancouver Main Office Branch. Prior to joining the Fortin Wealth Advisory Group Ryan was a Director of Wealth Planning with BMO Private Wealth.

Ryan is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and currently working towards his Associate Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor designations.

Born in B.C. and raised in the Northern community of Quesnel, Ryan spent his childhood playing sports and working in many of his family’s businesses. Today, Ryan resides in Surrey with his wife Amm, and baby daughter Aanya. On the weekends you can find Ryan playing hockey in Burnaby or out with the family for a nice hike followed by a large family dinner.

Jordan Goh, BBA

Wealth Associate

Jordan may be our youngest team member, but you wouldn’t know it to work with him. He is never rattled and has the ability to quickly address concerns and requests from clients and our clients’ professionals. He brings youthfulness, keen tech support and excitement to our group.

Jordan's role is to assist Joanna on service items and well as be a key associate for Christine and Ryan in providing support for clients’ wealth planning and investment models. We think of him as a part Ryan and part Joanna and is a key bridge between all of our team. He liaises with our clients’ other professionals and our internal professionals and provides information to Ryan and Christine to evaluate.

He was born and raised in Langley, BC as the middle of three children.

He attended Simon Fraser University and achieved a Bachelor of Business Administration concentrating in Finance and International Business.

Jordan is excited to be on the team filled with a passionate and driven group of people.

Most recently, Jordan worked in a Family Office, helping with both the family asset management as well as charitable endeavours.

Some of Jordan’s hobbies include snowboarding in the winter as well as playing volleyball in the summer (ask him about his athletic achievements). When he’s is not in the office you can find him spending time with his friends at the basketball court or at a dinner surrounded by family.
