Emily, author of Build Your Family Bank: A Winning Vision for Multigenerational Wealth is responsible for working alongside clients as they embark on a strategic path to create successful family wealth/family business continuation plans. Her role is to facilitate discussions to help clients design, develop and implement a plan that supports clients to reach their specific succession goals and/or objectives. Emily Chairs the Private Enterprise Advisory meetings at Hamilton & Associates.
Along with her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University, Emily’s professional credentials include being a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant, Investment Advisor and Associate Certified Conflict Resolution Coach.
Emily brings to the team her experience as a business owner and seller of a high profile family business. In 1994, Emily, along with three partners, privatized Northwest Sports Enterprises Ltd. (then owner of Vancouver Canucks), creating Orca Bay Sports the company that went on to complete the building of Vancouver's' GM Place (today under the name Rogers Arena) and bringing the Grizzlies NBA franchise to Vancouver.
Emily also shares her expertise and experience as a board member, Investment and Finance Committee member and Treasurer of The Nature Trust of British Columbia, a leading land conservation organization. Emily is also a past board member, Audit Committee member and Chair of Simon Fraser University Foundation and past board member, Treasurer and member of the Investment and Finance committee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC.
