Our Approach

Our approach is different. Because our clients are different.

At BMO Wealth Management, we understand that the most effective plan begins long before we look at the numbers – it starts with a discussion about your values, your current situation and your aspirations for your future. Our discussion will provide the information needed to prepare your personal financial plan.

Your financial plan provides you with a comprehensive assessment of your financial situation and helps you determine if your existing investment strategy is in line with your goals. The plan includes a review of your current financial position, as well as an analysis of your investment, retirement, estate and tax planning issues.

Your investment advisor and their specialized team of experts are here to understand your life priorities and deliver on our commitment to:

  • Assess your financial goals and level of risk tolerance
  • Develop a strategic and effective in-depth plan based on your current financial picture
  • Put your customized investment plan into action, monitoring its progress over both the short and long term, with a responsibility to keep you informed based on your needs
  • Meet at your desired frequency to review your portfolio, re-evaluate and re-balance where necessary to achieve meaningful performance

Implementation and review of your plan
When reviewing and implementing your financial plan, your advisory team will help you determine if you need to meet with other professionals, such as our in-house tax advisor, insurance specialist or an estate lawyer, to implement your plan. He or she will also review your portfolio to ensure that it is consistent with your business, personal and financial objectives.

Once implemented, your plan should be reviewed every few years or whenever there is a significant change in your circumstances, such as a change in marital status, a birth or death in the family, an inheritance or a change in employment or business plans.
