Nick is the founder of and a Senior Partner in The Glen Group. He is also a Senior Vice-President of BMO Nesbitt Burns and a Portfolio Manager. Nick, who has been receiving his Canada Pension for a while now, is constantly asked, “Do you have any plans to retire?” The answer is, “Not anytime soon”.
Nick has been an Investment Advisor at BMO Nesbitt Burns (and its predecessor firm, Burns Fry Limited) since 1985. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at two Chartered Accounting firms, Price Waterhouse and Thorne Riddell (the predecessor firm to KPMG). It was there that he met Tony Hume. Nick obtained his CA designation in Vancouver in 1977 and spent several years working in the income tax field before joining Burns Fry.
An immigrant who is delighted to live in Canada, Nick was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and was raised in both Kenya and Swaziland. He married Anne Bruneau from Quebec City in 1979, and they have three grown daughters and an expanding number of grandchildren.
In their spare time, Nick and Anne enjoy spending time with their girls, their partners and their grandchildren, as well as with their large and extended families. Favourite activities include hiking, biking, travelling, and especially visiting the African "bush.” Clients who are thinking of travelling to Africa should ask Nick where to go as he is a “mine” of information.
