Matt has 23 years of experience in the field of personal finance. He began his career in the Pension and Tax Departments of the Federal Government. In 1995, he moved into the private sector, working for various investment subsidiaries of Sun Life where he worked mostly with institutional investors and pension plans.
Matt became a Wealth Advisor in February of 2004. He offers investment advice as well as retirement, tax and estate planning. He holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIMTM) designation.
Matt has been very involved in the community. He is the cofounder of Cinema Insieme, an Italian film club. He has served as Chairman of the board of the Hamilton Port Authority and on the board of the St. Joseph's Healthcare System. He was the founding Chair of the Art Gallery of Hamilton Film Festival and created the St. Joe's Healthcare - Around the Bay Race Charitable Partnership. He is a former Chair of St. Joe's Homecare, a former Chair of Festitalia Corporation, a former member of the boards of the Hamilton Future Fund, the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority and Chamber Music Hamilton. He has also served on many committees in the Arts, Healthcare and Municipal Government and has taught at Mohawk College's School of Business.
Matt runs regularly. He has completed a marathon, several half-marathons and has participated in Hamilton's 30 km Around the Bay Race three times.
Matt hopes to one day earn a Private Pilot license. He has completed ground school and some in-flight training. But these days, he spends his free time watching film and vegetable gardening.
