My Philosophy

When developing a portfolio it is well proven that the asset mix is the most important component of the investment process. The asset mix is the critical choice that must be made between stocks, bonds, and cash.

Your portfolio is adaptable to whatever criteria you set forth. I will tailor the portfolio to reflect your investment objectives and risk tolerance. We give you the ability to be on holidays and be assured that your money is being properly cared for.

I will strive to provide you with service that is professional yet personal. Client meetings will be used to review portfolio performance and to evaluate any changes in order to ensure that your investment objectives still coincide with the portfolio.

At BMO Nesbitt Burns we are experienced and we take a great deal of pride in our customized approach to designing a portfolio that meet the specific needs of our clients. Portfolios are designed to achieve maximum performance safely, through diversification. Contrary to what you may believe, the safest portfolio is not one comprised of only G.I.C.’s, T-bill’s and bonds. It is a statistical fact that a roughly equal mix of bonds, managed futures and equities performs better and is safer over the long term.

As an associate portfolio manager I have the ability to manage money on a discersionary basis. It is fully managed by me and I make trades in all accounts at the same time. I make changes then let clients know about the positioning every few weeks. It is for busy people who want to hand off the decision making. The goal is not a high octane portfolio but one that will return 7% to 12% without a lot of downside. 30% to 50% bonds depending on the situation. The cash flow is one of the priorities as is low volatility. I will write covered calls to generate income on part of the portfolio. The fees are tax deductable and much lower cost than mutual funds
