Since joining BMO Nesbitt Burns (Burns Fry) in early 1982 as an Investment Advisor, Gordon’s clients have benefitted greatly from his investment management insights and moreover, his professional perspectives. Gordon is a decision-maker and one who helps clients understand and appreciate the true value of professional advice. Gordon’s licensing and registrations position him to be able to deal with wealth management needs for individuals, their family members and foundations in Canada, the US and abroad. Gordon has earned the trust and respect of his clients, and firm, by virtue of his unwavering commitment to integrity and ethics in both his life and his business.
Gordon’s approach to wealth management goes beyond portfolio construction and stewardship. Gordon is a problem-solver and one who is focused on what is important to his clients. One key benefit clients receive when working with Gordon is that he delivers on the phrase, “Partner with Experience”. The evolution of his business to include two partners speaks to that point in that the team’s goal is to humanize the planning process. Whether it be the immediate financial needs of a client, next generation wealth transition or legacy planning, Gordon, his team and his professional relationships, both within the firm and with others entrusted by his clients, combine to be an excellent source and sounding board for client-centric solutions.
Gordon has obtained many industry credentials during his successful career; he is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), he has completed the PDO (Partners, Directors and Officers) exam, industry Professional Financial Planning Courses and he is a licensed Life Insurance Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns Financial Services Inc. As a Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the firm, his achievements and leadership have been recognized as well through his tenure. In addition, Gordon is registered and licensed in the US as a Registered Representative.
There is much to Gordon beyond his commitment to excellence at work. He is married with three adult children. He has served as past President, Director at Muskoka Lakes Golf & Country Club, as past Director at Rosedale Golf Club (Toronto) and as past Co-Chair of a major Capital Campaign for the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation. Gordon and his wife Michele live in Toronto, yet enjoy time spent at their cottage in Muskoka and at their home in Florida. Golf, tennis, travel and a focus on family help round-out Gordon’s areas of interest outside of the office. Gordon clearly brings a human touch to his client relationships, many of whom he has been with for over 35 years now.
