Richard received his Licentiate in Laws (Civil Law) from the Université
de Montréal in 1980 and was called to the Québec Bar in 1981. He
completed a professional development course in taxation given by the
Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) en 1989. Mr. Richard
also successfully completed the requirements of the Institut québécois
de planification financière (IQPF) leading to the Planificateur
financier designation and holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner
designation awarded by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners
(STEP). He has also completed a Master’s degree in International
taxation offered by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in
Australia. After a time in the private sector, Mr. Richard joined the
Legal Department of the Québec Department of Revenue where he
specialized in tax issues. He was then appointed Director of Taxation
Services with responsibility for regional offices of a major national
accounting firm. In this capacity, Mr. Richard developed and implemented
tax and estate plans for many high net worth clients with complex tax
situations. He has also been a member of the tax and estate planning
team of a major Canadian life insurance company. His ability to assist
our clients on complex tax and estate issues make him a valuable and
indispensable asset to our team.
Paul Lalonde, B. Comm, F. Pl.
Estate and Tax Planning, Financial Security Advisor
is a graduate of McGill University, with a degree in Finance, and has
been working in the financial services industry for the past 16 years.
After starting his own financial services business specialized in Wealth
Management, he joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2011 to manage the Estate
Planning Department in Quebec.
His expertise includes Estate and
Financial Planning, integration of fiscal solutions for corporations,
and developing strategies that maximize Wealth and Estate worth as well
as the Estate value of small and mid-sized companies. He is also
specialized in personal insurance and has developed a mechanism allowing
one to obtain immediate financing in order to cover corporate insurance
Paul is an important resource person and brings a
large array of knowledge and experience in Estate and Financial Planning
to our team.
