I officially joined Janice and Eva in 2016, although I was a summer intern from 2010 to 2015 so I was not a totally fresh face when I joined full-time. Prior to embarking on my career I obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree from UBC.
While working towards my BSc and shooting for medical school, I interned with Janice and Eva for those 5 summers and gradually realized that I really enjoyed working in this industry. I always knew I wanted a career where I could help people in some capacity, and once I discovered how fulfilling it was to help people achieve financial peace of mind I was hooked. I have completed the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook exam, and the Wealth Management Essentials exam, and am continuing to work towards the ultimate goal of becoming a Portfolio Manager.
While at UBC I challenged myself by playing on the varsity women's field hockey team throughout my undergraduate degree. We won the Canadian National Championships all 5 years I was a member of the team, and I was named co-captain in my last two years. I was also the Vice-President and Treasurer of the Thunderbird Athletic Council. In my final year at UBC, I was a nominee for the May Brown Outstanding Graduating Female Athlete Award, and the recipient of the UBC Twenty-8 Award for Outstanding Leadership by a female varsity student-athlete.
I now look forward to giving back to the UBC varsity community by stepping into a leadership role with the Thunderbird Women In Sport Committee, which works to increase financial support for women in varsity athletics. I am also an active member of the Thunderbird Alumni Council.
In the workplace I have been a Branch Ambassador for BMO's Annual Employee Giving Campaign with United Way, and have attended several BMO Day of Caring events.
I have a passion for reading novels, travelling the world, and being outside. When not in the office you can find me working out in the gym or adventuring around the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
