Derek Brodie has extensive experience within the banking and wealth management industry having started his career as a commercial account manager managing a portfolio of clients. He then joined a Canadian bank-owned brokerage where he was a Branch Manager & Investment Advisor, serving high net worth clients throughout Southern Ontario. He has a proven track record as an energetic and collaborative leader with a great ability to effectively support teams of experienced professionals to ensure an exceptional client experience. His strategic mindset and operational capabilities have proven to be an excellent asset as we grow the Private Wealth business.
Derek lives in Stoney Creek with his wife Alison and their three children Bennett, Tessa, & Miller. He is incredibly passionate about community involvement and has been a chair for several community initiatives and enjoys contributing to BMO’s focused charitable campaigns. Derek also founded a registered charity that gives intellectually disabled athletes the opportunity to play hockey which continues to flourish. In his spare time, Derek enjoys skiing and golfing and enjoys some friendly competition with his children who, he’s the first to admit, are much better athletes than he ever was.
Shelley has over 20 years’ experience at BMO Nesbitt Burns. In Shelley’s previous role as a Licensed Sales Assistant she was responsible for all of the day to day administration for her Advisory team. She also served on the Sales Assistant Advisory Committee for several years where she collaborated with other enthusiastic sales assistants in an effort to enhance communications between clients, teams and BMO’s internal resources.
Shelley has recently utilized her many years of experience in taking on the role of the Branch Operations Manager for the Hamilton Niagara Branch of BMO Nesbitt Burns as of April 2017. She has a teenaged daughter who keeps her very busy. In her leisure time, she enjoys gardening and reading as well as travelling and spending cherished time with friends and family.
