Spending his life growing up in South Surrey in a financially minded family, it is no surprise that Spencer has entered the wealth management industry like his dad and two brothers. He completed a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Finance at McGill University, all the while remaining engaged in playing lacrosse at the varsity level. Spencer developed his leadership and team building skills as a team captain for the McGill men's lacrosse team.
Not yet done with academics or athletics, he then went on to enrol in a Master's of Science in Finance at Boston College, while still playing lacrosse at the collegiate level. Finance and team involvement needed to form the base of Spencer's career, which encouraged him to join the Fortin Wealth Advisory Group.
My two passions in life have been Lacrosse and Investment Management. Once I decided to pursue my career in the wealth management industry, I brought the rigorous discipline and work ethic that I learned through my sport, to my professional life. This high level sports background has served me well in the investment management industry. Myself and our team now reside on the Athlete Advisory Team for BMO Private Wealth. We take a team approach to ensuring professional athletes receive high level service and results, ranging from investment management, to private banking and insurance.
