Carlos Casanova, BA, PFP

Wealth Advisor
Carlos is a Wealth Advisor with over 20 years of experience in the investment field. Through various roles in retail banking, private banking and Wealth Advisory, he has become very passionate about helping clients meet and exceed their financial objectives.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and has successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Conduct and Practice Handbook Course, the Professional Financial Planning Course, and the Wealth Advisor Fundamentals Program.​


 

Daniel Ewing

Investment Representative
Daniel has been part of BMO Nesbitt Burns since 2008. He started in the St. Catharines office upon graduating from Brock University with a degree in psychology. Daniel has over 10 years experience as an Investment Representative with extensive experience in branch operations as well.

Daniel's focus is to provide clients with a warm and positive experience while handling the administrative side of the business. When he's not in the office, Daniel enjoys getting lost in  a good book.

Piero Mazza, CFP, CFA, CIM, R

Senior Wealth Management Consultant

As a member of the Wealth Management Consulting team, Piero brings together the knowledge and experience of our in-house tax and estate professionals and works with Investment Advisors and their clients to develop sound wealth management plans.

He provides support and direction about complex issues such as retirement and distribution planning, tax planning, cash management, estate and gift planning, transition planning and charitable giving.

Piero has 15 years of experience in the financial services industry having worked for a large, Canadian brokerage firm and Insurance company as a financial planner providing comprehensive planning for their high net worth clients in the area of tax, estate, insurance and retirement planning.

Piero has a Business Degree, is a member of the Financial Planning Standards Council and the CFA Society of Toronto.




Chris Markou, LL.B., B.A. (HONS)

Senior Manager, Trust & Estates

His role is to provide enhanced planning support offering expertise in Trusts, Wills, Probate and Estate Planning, wealth transfer and estate administration.

He was called to the Bar in 2003. Over his career he has operated his own law firm, worked as in-house counsel for a title insurance company, and worked at one of the oldest and largest law firms in Brampton.

Most recently, his practice was split between estates law and real estate law. He has implemented complicated estate plans involving business owners, high net worth clients, farmers, blended families, and families including persons with disabilities. He also assisted executors, beneficiaries or persons appointed pursuant to Powers of Attorney with respect to estate administration. On the real estate side, he was involved in commercial and residential purchases, sales, refinances, and commercial leasing matters.



 
 

Noel Perera, CMA, CPA, CA

Director, Tax Planning
With almost 25 years of experience, Noel understands the broad issues that wealthy families face. By taking the time to understand each client’s specific goals and objectives, he brings his extensive subject matter expertise to help guide families through the unique opportunities and challenges that they may be facing in the areas of tax and estate planning, corporate structuring, business succession planning, trust planning and family governance.

Noel can skillfully take complex tax and estate planning issues and considerations, and speak to clients in a way that they can easily understand these issues.

Frank creates solutions tailored to each unique situation by providing guidance to affluent families, professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners with putting the right pieces in place to protect what is most valuable in life.  His mission is to help clients develop an awareness and understanding of wealth and estate planning strategies through the creation of powerful solutions that achieve their objectives in a tax-efficient and cost-effective manner.

He provides comprehensive advice for intergenerational wealth planning through estate creation and preservation, risk management through personal and corporate insurance planning, and retirement planning through tax-based wealth accumulation and income strategies, all with an emphasis on the elimination of taxes.  Frank routinely corrects or enhances situations where coverage is already in place, specializing in high net worth clients and their unique challenges including business succession, estate planning and family dynamics.
