“My approach to managing wealth draws upon an education based sales model that seeks to empower my clients by providing them with the knowledge that they need, when they need it. This allows them to shut out all the noise and focus on what’s important for them and their families.
Chris has been involved in banking and investments for almost 20 years. For the first 12 years of his career Chris advised a wide variety of corporate clients on how to generate additional revenue with the cash that would otherwise sit in their bank accounts. By learning about how their business operates and negotiating with various financial institutions on their behalf, Chris provided clients with streamlined cash management systems and reliable returns.
This time in the trenches, as it were, allowed Chris to learn what was to become a central aspect of his technique; how to clearly communicate with clients about money and wealth.
“Many clients don’t realize that every decision involves more than just what they should invest in. My role is to help them understand how various elements of their life will be impacted. A financial plan provides us with a personalized blueprint and schedule of what decisions my clients will need to make at various stages in their lives. The result is a step-by-step approach to building wealth that is tailor-made for each of the families I advise.”
Chris moved to BMO Nesbitt Burns and acquired his Chartered Investment Management (CIM) designation in an effort to ensure that he would be able to provide the widest range of products and services to his clients.
”I didn’t want to be limited to merely being able to advise my clients on a narrow aspect of their finances or to be limited in the types of investments I could offer; I wanted to take a long-term, comprehensive approach to growing their wealth. I wanted to provide an approach and methodology that’s capable of incorporating a wide range of investment opportunities and expertise from a variety of disciplines.”
The highlight of Chris’ career came in early 2017 when he was asked to become the newest Investment Advisor with Keene McManus McIntosh Wealth Consultants. As a team that provides clients with Discretionary Portfolio Management, options trading and insurance they are at the forefront of the Canadian Wealth Management industry. Joining the team has again allowed Chris to further expand the service model he provides his clients by drawing upon the knowledge and expertise of the other members of the team.
Chris is married and lives with his wife Janet and their dog Ruby.
