James Waters, BBA, CFP® , CIWM
Director, Wealth Planning at BMO Wealth Management
Analytics and analysis have always been James’ forte and he is passionate about helping people. As a result, James has been captured by the art of Financial Planning since first being exposed to it in school. Since 2008, he has made it his mission to develop his craft to be at the absolute pinnacle of the industry. At BMO, James is part of an integrated team of in-house technical specialists that work together to facilitate a superb client experience that delivers customized solutions to address the unique and complex needs of clients.

James has been in the Wealth Management industry nearly a decade. During this time he has worked at boutique investment firms, large insurance companies and as a subject matter expert for Moody’s Analytics. James has experience with the creation and implementation of complex financial plans to service high net worth families and individuals including professionals, executives, business owners and professional athletes

Outside of work, James enjoys competing in sports including softball, golf, and hockey or coaching ski racing and soccer. If you do not see him creating a yard sale on the hill, tripping over the blue line or trapped in a golf bunker, he is likely on a hike with his family around one of the many trails in Hamilton. James currently resides with his wife and family in Burlington.

 As a Senior Private Banker, Christopher creates and implements bespoke banking and lending solutions for ultra-high-net-worth families, business owners and entrepreneurs, ensuring dedicated, results-oriented service. Acting as a trusted partner, his sole focus is to meet the unique needs of every client to deliver a boutique experience that fosters meaningful, long-term relationships. Importantly, Christopher understands – and can effectively address – the inherent challenges of wealth – from the unified management of personal, business and holding company accounts, to offshore income and complex credit structuring.

Leveraging access to the global resources and expertise of a 200-year-old financial institution, Christopher collaborates with his partners enterprise-wide to provide a comprehensive suite of wealth services including banking, tax, estate planning, business advisory, and discretionary investment management solutions. Ultimately, Christopher is able to seamlessly execute on delivering timely and efficient access to capital, ensuring ongoing alignment with client objectives.

interest in corporate and personal tax, focusing on ways to reduce or eliminate it from the client’s plan. Away from work, John enjoys golfing
and spending time with his wife and two boys.

Leigh Vyn

Leigh joined BMO Wealth Management in 2017. In addition to her accounting background at KPMG, she has extensive experience in the investment industry, including working at a multi-family office where she led a diverse team. Most recently, Leigh worked as a Business and Family Wealth Specialist where she focused on tax planning and wealth transfer strategies for high net worth clients and business owners. For four years, Leigh co-authored the book “Tax Tips for Canadians for Dummies”.

Adam Carter
VP, Business Advisory & Succession Planning at BMO Wealth Management​
Experience & background
Prior to joining BMO Wealth Management in 2018, Adam worked for KPMG since 2005. Working within the KPMG Corporate Finance Group for nine years, he advised private company owners across multiple industries, with business enterprise values ranging from $3 million to +$100 million, on divestitures, acquisitions, due diligence, projections/financial modeling, and business valuations for multiple purposes. Other areas of experience include corporate restructuring and insolvency, financings, financial modeling & projections and corporate audits.

Landon Hang
Director, Will and Estate Planning at BMO Wealth Management​
Experience & background Prior to joining the BMO Enterprise Wealth Management Group, Landon practiced in a regional firm in the solicitors department with a focus on wills & estates, corporate commercial, and real estate law. Landon is able to draw from his past experience to provide clients with comprehensive support with their estate planning needs involving complex issues.

Linda Leung, CPA, TEP
Director, US Tax Planning
Linda is responsible for providing Investment Advisors and their clients with Canadian and US tax planning support. Before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, Linda was a member of a global tax team at a large consulting firm where she assisted individuals in understanding the Canadian, US and international tax implications of their various forms of compensation. Prior to that, she was employed by a large, international accounting firm in their International Assignment Services and Small Business tax groups.
Linda has expertise in US personal tax matters and can provide guidance on cross-border personal income tax issues. In her previous role, Linda was also involved in the design and execution of global executive compensation and share plans.
