At the helm of the team, Steve Kaszas joined Burns Fry in 1983 and became a shareholder in 1984. 

Steve avows that his success has been grounded ‘on his ability to establish and maintain a smart client base. In addition to the many resources available to them through BMO Nesbitt Burns, the Kaszas Altberg Group receives timely and extensive information from a variety of worldwide sources. Many people have observed that while Steve loves his out of office activities and adores his family pursuits, he is happiest at work, sustaining an energetic schedule on behalf of his clients around the globe. Steve is the proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal which he received in 2003 for his significant contributions to Canada and the community.

Adam Altberg, CIM®

Senior Portfolio Manager & Senior Investment Advisor

A dynamic portfolio manager, trader, and derivatives specialist, Adam Altberg started his career on the floor of the TSX trading options in 1988. As a Branch Manager and Registered Options Principal (ROP) at a competing bank-owned brokerage firm, he successfully traded a number of complex portfolio and options strategies and perfected his unique approach to investing.

While not at work, Adam enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, coaching minor league hockey, and volunteering for several charities. He joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1998 and has worked diligently with The Kaszas Altberg Group since 2001. His trading experience and vigorous dedication in all areas of the business complement the team approach.  
 

Chris Kaszas

Investment Advisor

Adopting a family office approach, Chris provides his clients with many tailored planning, investment and wealth management solutions. With an affinity for both personal and professional growth, he is currently pursuing his Chartered Investment Manager designation. Prior to joining the Kaszas Altberg Group, Chris’s mentorship alongside leading Canadian Portfolio Managers and Institutional Investors has equipped him with invaluable knowledge and experience, shaping his investment philosophy.

When he is not in the office, you will find Chris in one of many GTA hockey arenas, on the golf course, or at the Muskoka family cottage.

Laura Roncone

Senior Associate

A member of the Kaszas Altberg Group since 2013, Laura began her career in retail and investment banking in 2011 while completing a Master of Arts degree at the University of Waterloo. Committed to providing a personalized and seamless client experience, Laura takes great pride in assisting our clients with all aspects of their financial needs. Licensed as a Registered Representative and to trade in Options and Derivatives, she is currently working towards completing the Wealth Management Essentials course.
 
When she’s not relaxing with a good book and her adopted cat, Beans, Laura enjoys spending time training for her next run and travelling with her husband.

Christina Su, CFP

Senior Associate

Christina completed her Bachelor of Commerce at Ryerson University in 2014. Shortly after, she began her career at BMO Bank of Montreal as a Financial Services Manager specializing in retail banking. In 2016, she joined the Kaszas Altberg Group where she plays a key role on the team focusing on financial planning, financial analysis and providing exceptional customer service. Christina is a registered Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and is currently pursuing the Chartered Investment Manager designation.

When Christina is not working in the office, she enjoys spending time with her French Bulldog, leading an active lifestyle, cooking and traveling.

Emma Peppler, CFA

Client Service Associate

Emma joined the Kaszas Altberg Group in January 2019 after receiving her Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Brock University. As a valued member of the Kaszas Altberg Group, Emma is committed to providing unparalleled client service. Emma obtained her CFA charter in April 2024 and is CIRO licensed.
 
In her spare time, Emma likes to stay active and spend time with her family and friends.
