David joined The Maclean Group in November 2018 with 37 years of experience providing financial services. He creates a winning combination with Paul Maclean, his brother-in-law of almost four decades. David helps the Maclean Group to serve dental professionals, physicians, medical/dental students, and other healthcare providers who need responsive strategies tailored to fit them and their practices. Several hospitals are within easy walking distance of their office.
With a genuine concern for people and a gift for grasping their needs and earning their trust, David builds strategies around a client’s goals rather than shoehorning them into cookie-cutter solutions. He guides healthcare practitioners at every stage of their careers – from managing debt to building a long-term financial plan; accessing Private Banking, insurance, tax, estate, trust, and commercial borrowing services; and planning for a successful practice transition.
Prior to joining BMO in 2018, David worked with Scotiabank and for the last 22 of those years, he was a Retail Branch Manager for several offices serving professionals in Halifax and Dartmouth. David earned a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Mary’s University and has completed the required courses to complete the Financial Management Advisor (FMA) program with the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI). He is also licensed to sell Life, Accident and Sickness insurance through the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP).
Born and raised in Halifax, David has supported many local community causes and has been Event Lead for fundraisers in support of A Roof Over Her Head women’s shelter. He and his wife have been married since 1984 and have two sons. David leads a very rounded, active life and particularly enjoys hockey and golf.
