He has brought together a team of seasoned experts and directs their efforts towards individualized wealth management and the future you envision. Liza CheongLiza joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in September 2013 as a Practice Management Consultant where she was responsible for identifying successful Investment Advisors who are committed to improving their practice through building processes and regular coaching.
With over 17 years of experience in financial services, Liza spent the majority of her career within the Power Group of Companies holding such roles as Financial Security Advisor, Regional Manager, Retirement & Investment Services, Regional Manager, Practice Development and National Manager, Investment Sales Distribution. Proudly, Liza was part of the pioneer team of the Settlement to Employment Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa which helped newly arrived Canadians find jobs in the finance field. Within this program, Liza taught the Certified Financial Planning curriculum as well as the LLQP. Liza is certified Wilson Learning Coach, holds the Chartered Life Underwriter designation, is past Treasurer of the Montreal Chambre Orchestra and past Board Member of the Hong Kong Canada Business Association.
In her current role as the Uptown Branch, Assistant Branch Manager, Liza is responsible for providing sales enablement within the Branch which includes: sales coaching, training/business development, financial planning support and process & practice efficiency.
A dedicated and motivating leader, Liza is known for her ability to trouble-shoot and for her highly solutions-oriented thinking. Liza is a Member of BMO’s Affinity Group, W.I.S.E. (Women in a Supported Environment), where she is part of a committee to promote and build the affinity group’s profile.
Liza lives in Toronto with her husband who both enjoy camping, international travel, and amateur culinary artistry.
Branch Operations Manager
|Shirley Tiong has been with BMO Nesbitt Burns for 10 years: she started as the Branch Administrator and took on the role as Branch Compliance Officer. In her current role as Branch Operations Manager, Shirley is accountable for actively managing the day-to-day operations of the Branch; she leads the Branch Support Staff Team to ensure exceptional service in supporting the needs of Investment Advisors within our Branch.
Shirley also manages the risk and regulatory requirements for the Branch by performing risk assessments and monitoring all activities to ensure there are no breaches in compliance.
Prior to joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, Shirley was Executive Assistant to CEO and directors at MGI Securities, Vengate Capital and Rampart Securities.
Shirley obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Business Studies at the University of East London, England.
Shirley lives in Markham, with her husband Chris and her children Nicholas and Ashley who keep them both very busy.
