My career in the financial services sector began in management with a major Canadian chartered bank, and then I joined BMO Nesbitt Burns, where I have been employed for the past 22 years as an Investment Advisor. To achieve long term success, I believe one must be committed to self-improvement and education. I furthered my education in 2009 when I completed my Master of Business Administration degree at the Ivey School of Business at Western University. My professional designations from the Canadian Securities Institute include Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI); and most recently I was awarded the institutes Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) designation, the new standard for excellence in wealth management. As a Portfolio Manager, I create customized discretionary portfolios for discerning investors. I construct these using my depth of knowledge and drawing on third party and our in-house BMO Nesbitt Burns research.
Giving back to my community is important to me, and I do so through volunteering my time and through my own charitable giving. Much of my volunteer work centres on my love of Ontario’s landscape. I am a past Director of the Ontario Trails Council, the organization responsible for the implementation of the province-wide trail network. I was the President of the Friends of Killarney Park, the not for profit organization which works with Ontario Parks to promote and protect this pristine wilderness area in LaCloche. My experience at Ivey was also very rewarding and I have stayed involved as an active member of the Ivey Alumni Association (IAA) , a member of the Ivey Society, and a past board member of the Voice of Alumni Committee, the Ivey Alumni Association Board, and the Editorial Board of the Ivey Intouch Magazine.
I am an outdoor enthusiast, who makes many treks to the LaCloche region on the north shore of Lake Huron where I spent my youth, to participate in kayaking, canoeing, hiking, backcountry camping, cross country skiing and snow shoeing. I like physical challenges and have completed the rugged and beautiful 80 km Silhouette Trail in Killarney Park on four occasions. I am looking forward to paddlingand exploring the south shore of Lake Nipissing near my home. I also enjoy travelling in Canada and to foreign destinations.
